SXSW 2019 is now history, so let’s take a look back at the weekend in gaming. The annual event in Austin, TX was just as exciting and amazing as it is every year. Nighthawk Pro Gaming was there in force, and we had a few bits of news that got the crowds to really rally around the booth, keeping us busy all weekend. We met with many gamers, streamers and enthusiastic fans who asked all sorts of questions on how to improve their gaming experience with Nighthawk Pro Gaming. We even had a number of younger fans that stopped in to help educate their parents about Nighthawk Pro Gaming routers, and we helped them answer all their questions. Nighthawk Pro Gaming products made it on to several wish lists by the close of the weekend.
On the eve of SXSW gaming on Thursday, March 14th, NETGEAR unveiled the latest addition to our line up, the Nighthawk Pro Gaming XR300 router. This new router joins the NPG family utilizing the same great gaming software, DumaOS, that has made NPG routers the award-winning gaming products that gamers everywhere are talking about.
This scaled-down router has a 1Ghz dual-core processor, 4 ethernet ports for wired play and 1.7Gbps WiFi to power all those other devices in the home. At a very affordable $199, the XR300 has been a huge hit with gamers – and their parents – at SXSW.
We also had the pleasure of announcing our partnership bundle with Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 with the purchase of a Nighthawk Pro Gaming XR450 router. Any XR450 purchased after March 15th on Newegg.com or Amazon.com will receive a code for the standard edition of the Division 2 for PC. It’s a great bundle that includes one of the season’s most anticipated games and it’s available to all who are making the purchase in North America for just $249. Find out more here.
This year, we also partnered with SXSW Gaming to sponsor the Streamery. The Streamery is the home of live streaming content at SXSW Gaming, with dozens of online influencers broadcasting live to their followers from the SXSW Gaming Expo floor.

NETGEAR sponsored a few tournaments, which took place on Saturday, March 16th. Our Overwatch tournament had so many responses, it was broken into two tournaments. The big surprise was the tournament being won by primarily console players in the PC only tournament. Our Fortnite 2 v 2 Tournament started at 3pm and the winners of the tournaments received a Nighthawk Pro Gaming swag bag.
