I have been writing about small business for USATODAY.com for over 20 years, and have been a small business owner myself for even longer. Over the years, I have gotten to know a lot of small business owners, and I’ve noticed that we have many things in common.
We are typically enthusiastic, hard-working, creative, risk-taking go-getters. Small business people tend to thrive in unstructured work environments. And, when it comes to technology, we have much in common as well. I would say that the average small business owner really appreciates all that technology can do, and how it has made our lives as businesspeople easier, more effective, and profitable.
That’s the good news.
The bad news is that we really hate when our technology gets complicated, or time-consuming, or doesn’t work as advertised. We would rather spend our time running and growing our business than thinking and worrying about our tech.
And that is but one reason that I am excited to have teamed up with NETGEAR, and why I am equally excited to share some great news about NETGEAR Insight Pro. Insight Pro is an ecosystem of cloud assets, networking hardware and storage products that allows small and medium businesses (SMBs) – especially those with several locations – to have:
- Feature-rich reliable connectivity
- Great WiFi performance
- Secure networking
- 24/7 network monitoring
- Remote support
- No need for management servers, network operations centers or on premise monitoring devices
To me, this is the kind of technology solution that small businesses love because, essentially, it is a networking solution that not only just works, it works better than the competition.
But don’t just take my word for it. Let’s ask the pros.
NETGEAR commissioned The Tolly Group to test and evaluate Insight Pro against the competition. Insight Pro won, hands down.
(And, by the way, who is The Tolly Group? The company has been around since 1989 and provides hands-on evaluation and certification of Information Technology products and services. The Tolly Group enjoys a unique position in the information technology sector as it has worked with virtually every major vendor and evaluated the most important products and technologies to appear over the past decade.)
Tolly found that “NETGEAR Insight Pro provides the best deployment architecture for small multi-location businesses.” Specifically, Tolly concluded that Insight Pro offered the following superior capabilities:
- An architecture designed for multi-customer, multi-location businesses
- Management, monitoring, and support via both the cloud and a mobile app
- Simple and flexible setup
- An easy-to-use cloud portal
Tolly praised the Insight Pro solution for many things, including its ability to:
- Easily enable MSP and distributed organization support of customers
- Configure, monitor and manage separate locations without requiring any additional equipment at each site
- Generate concise reports for each business
- Have a consistent and intuitive interface across both its mobile app and cloud portal
One more thing I love about Insight Pro: Not only is it a great solution for multi-unit SMBs, but it offers VARs the ability to have an additional, powerful, lucrative profit center. By offering Insight Pro to their customers, VARs can give their clients a world-class Cloud IT infrastructure.
It’s a win-win for all, and for my small business brothers and sisters, one less technology issue that they have to think and worry about.
