Dear Arlo Community,

You asked and we answered!!  Members submitted requests on our Arlo Idea Exchange page for a solar panel to charge the batteries of both the Arlo Pro and Arlo Go cameras. We are happy to announce that the Arlo product team has delivered!

Our new Arlo Solar Panel harvests energy from the sun to keep a connected Arlo Pro Wire-Free or Arlo Go camera trickle-charging all year round. The weatherproof solar panel connects to the micro-USB port on the Arlo Pro camera using the included water-resistant 6-foot (1.8 m) cable.

With the Solar Panel connected to the camera and receiving average sun exposure, your camera battery stays charged, so that you don’t need to worry about recharging it.  This is an especially great solution for outdoor camera installations in hard-to-reach areas, or if you leave your LTE enabled Arlo Go in remote locations, like at your cabin or your boat, where you may visit infrequently.

You can use the Arlo solar panel in any outdoor location that falls within the solar panel’s operating temperature range of 32° to 122°F (0° to 50°C).

The included metal security mount can attach to walls, fences, roofs, gutters, or eaves. The adjustable mount and the 6-foot (1.8 m) weather-resistant Micro USB cable provide a wide range of mounting and positioning options.

To optimize the effectiveness of your solar panel, do the following:

  • Mount your solar panel facing south.
  • Choose a location for your solar panel that gets the most sunlight throughout the year.
  • Wipe the panel every few months to remove dust or debris that might affect the solar energy-harvesting efficiency of the panel.

Arlo’s new Solar Panel is available now!

I have six Arlo HD cameras on my property and live in the Northeast part of the United States.

I see the solar panel/battery is only good to 32f degrees. It get’s much colder during winter time in this region, well below 32f degrees.

ARLO going to come out with solar panel/battery that is compatible for it’s customers in tegions that get colder than 32f degrees ?
